OUR LIVES, OUR GULF
10 years after the BP drilling disaster, the worst environmental disaster in U.S. history, coastal communities are no safer than we were in 2010. Our coalition of organizations from the Gulf South and across the United States is united against the expansion of offshore drilling.
We honor the legacy of the 11 workers who died in the tragedy and the workers who still risk their own well being and health to feed their families. We stand with the fisherfolks who continue to rebuild their industry, and the cleanup workers who still demand justice.
We can’t afford a polluting economy.
We can’t afford a polluting economy. A better future is possible. We can make a just transition towards a green, renewable, and regenerative economy. We can have both good jobs and a healthy environment.

10 years later, offshore oil drilling is still a dirty and dangerous business. New reports continue to show that the oil released reached further than we were initially told and that the damage is far worse than expected. Meanwhile, the Trump administration has already gutted critical safety standards while planning to open up more of the nation’s coasts to dangerous offshore drilling.
